Paul J. Grimes Jr.

Paul J. Grimes Jr., a lifelong resident of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7th in Lincoln, MA. He was seventy-five years old. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Kulik) Grimes to whom he was married fifty-four years.

Paul was born in Concord, the only child of Paul J. Sr. and Helen (Trebendis) Grimes. He was raised and educated in Maynard and graduated from Maynard High School with the class of 1966. Upon graduation, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served honorably in the Vietnam War. His service took him all over the world to Hong Kong, the Philippines and the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. When he returned home, he married his high school sweetheart Karen Kulik in 1970. They remained in Maynard where they would raise their family. For over forty years, Paul owned and operated a successful plumbing company completing jobs throughout Massachusetts. Outside of work, Paul loved the time spent with his grandchildren, especially at the holidays. Paul and his family enjoyed time spent at their cottage in Ashby, MA where they made many memories with family and friends all of whom will all miss him dearly.

In addition to his wife Karen, Paul is lovingly survived by his two children, Michelle Booth and her husband Peter of Sterling and Dan Grimes and his wife Nicole of Chelmsford. He was the loving Grandpa of Hannah, Morgan, Natalie, Loralai, Ava and Alex. Paul also leaves a large group of loving extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, October 11th from 4:00-7:00PM in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00AM in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street Maynard. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard.
