Sunday January 24, 2024.

I was thinking back on my life and I thought of Mr. Paul Loftsgard today as I do from time to time. Paul as General manager had hired myself at Penny's Rents a Car/Percival Murcury Regina Sk. when I was a young man still in my teens. Paul was loyal and always there to teach in a very demanding business. I will never forget Mr. Loftsgard who took the chance to believe in me by giving me my first job in life, Thank you Mr. Paul Loftsgard, sincere condolences to your family.

Tia and Craig, I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was such a kind man and he was always so good to us when we were kids. I will always treasure my memories of hanging out at the house and swimming in your pool. I will miss seeing him around town in the limo. From my family to yours, may he rest in peace.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Paul; When I came to Canada in 1988 he was my first boss in my working career in Canada I was going to HS and working part time half of the time I don't think he knee what I was saying but he always took the time to listen to me. I remembered the time when he went to Hawaii and brought back pineapples for all the staff. He was simply a great gentleman, you will be miss...

So many good memories from high school come from time spent with your dad, hanging out at his house with Tia, laughing, playing cards, raiding the pantry for Kraft Dinner.

It's impossible to separate Paul from cars in my memory. It was in his bus that I took my first trip to Craven for the country-music festival, his rentals that allowed us to go to Saskatoon on the cheap, his 60s powder blue Mustang convertible that drove us to the beach and it was his limo that ferried us to grad in such style.

He was a true old-fashioned gentleman: stoic, gentle and independent-minded. He definitely lives on in his children, who've inherited his ability to make fun the point of living, his entrepreneurial spirit and how important it was to him to honour family.

My heart goes out to Tia and Craig and to all of Paul's family and loved ones.

Paul was like a second father to me. I have many great memories from high school hanging out with Tia in the kitchen and raiding his pantry for Kraft Dinner. It was in his bus that I first travelled to Craven for the country-music festival, his '69 powder blue Mustang convertible that took us to the beach and his limo that ferried us to grad. I see and admire many of his qualities embodied in his children, especially his independence, his entrepreneurial spirit, his dedication to having fun in life and the importance he placed on honouring family. He was a true old-fashioned gentleman: stoic, gentle and introspective. I will never forget his many kind and thoughtful gestures. Paul, you will be missed. Tia and Craig, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. He was a good man.

I'll always remember eating toast with cheez whiz and drinking Welch's grape juice with you in the morning when we visited. And being the one who got tucked in next to you when the rest of the beds were full. The smell of A5-35 is like a sleeping pill for me. Maybe it was you who taught me how to snore, because I do a damn good job of it.

My wedding day won't be the same without my personal chauffeur.
I'll love you for always and miss you forever....
