Paul Baker Murphy, Sr., born July 25, 1933 to the late, Charles and Lelia Mae Murphy, passed away on March 11, 2015 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Paul graduated from Millsaps College where he played college football. He went on to receive his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Paul served two years in the United States Army at Fort. Bliss, Texas. Paul spent most of his years practicing law as a land man representing oil and gas companies in the southeast. Paul was a devoted Christian and an active member of St. Therese's Catholic Church.

Paul is survived by his sons, Paul B. Murphy, Jr. and his wife, Katherine of Houston, Texas and Patrick W. Murphy and his wife, Stacey of Lakeland, Florida, and five grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 with a Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home, 212 Hayden St., Belzoni, Mississippi. Interment will follow immediately after at the Belzoni Cemetery under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Veteran Affairs Home in Kosciusko who took great care of Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Paul's name to the Mississippi State Veteran Affairs Home, 310 Autumn Ridge Dr., Kosciusko, MS 39090.
