Paul Naslund Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 16 to Apr. 18, 2006.
October 9th, 1931 – March 30th, 2006

Paul passed away suddenly on March 30th, 2006. After several years of bad health he was on the mend and looking forward to spring. Born in Bellevue in 1931 to Grover and Margaret Naslund, he was the youngest of five children.

He joined the air force during the Korean War and fought from 1949 until 1951. For many years Paul worked with his father and brothers in the concrete business. He started his own business, 'Eastside Concrete' in 1975. His son, Jim worked by his side. Many of the Eastside's sidewalks, patios and perhaps the foundation of your house were poured by Paul and his crew.

Paul loved the outdoors: blue skies, warm weather, green grass and his vegetable garden.

While the rest of us were buying the largest plants we could find, he was growing tomato plants from seeds. His plants produced hundreds of tomatoes. He found great joy in sharing them with his family and his friends, including the young woman at his favorite coffee stand.

Paul was a father, husband, uncle and friend. He saw the best in everyone and loved and cared for his beautiful wife, Maxine. He leaves his wife, Maxine; his son, Jim and his wife, Cheryl; two grandsons, Jesse and Tracy; his son Greg of Tuscon Arizona; his brothers, Fred Naslund of Bellevue and Howard Naslund of Annapolis, MD., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Margaret; his sister, Mary; brother, Grover, and his son, Brian.

We will remember Paul for his generous nature, his warm smile and his blue eyes. A celebration of his life was held at his home last Saturday. Any remembrances may be sent to the Humane Society.
