Paulene MAHONY Obituary
The family of Paulene O.V. Mahony is sad to announce that she passed away peacefully on August 1, 2012 with her grandchildren Brad and Shelley by her side. Paulene was born in Mervin, Saskatchewan on April 27, 1917. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 2009, after being together 69 years. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn, son-in-law Jack, grandchildren Brad (Lori), Colin (Louise), Shelley (Eric) Cosman and her great-grandchildren Jordan Cooper, Taylor and Tori Cosman, her sister-in-law Joyce Mahony, niece Pam (Chris Allen), nephew Bill and his two children Cole and Laurel Mahony. She loved to travel- be it moose hunting in the far north, bird hunting in Alberta, cruising or the many road trips they took. She has had many memorable trips and has seen most of the world. She loved her winter vacations in Puerto Vallarta with her special group of friends. Mom was a very active and caring person, a life long member of Queen's Avenue United Church, an inspiration to us all. Those that knew Mom benefited from her wisdom, compassionate and caring ways. A good cook and she was always feeding and caring for others. A great card player, she loved her many bridge groups- and always liked to win! A life well lived! We love you Mom and will miss you forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Queen's Avenue United Church, 529 Queen's Avenue, New Westminster, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations of the Alzheimer's Society, UBC, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Great memories of growing up in this west end community . I believe that your mom is the last of my parents generation-lots of interaction , mutual responsibility and caring , bridge (among the adults ) and lifelong friendships. Especially remember the frequent supply of fish from your dad . A very special and unique time in our lives .
