I worked at Sears Birmingham with Polly from 1955 until I was transferred
to Sears offices in Atlanta in 1981. Polly was the glue that kept the Sears
associates in Birmingham together as a family and also after she retired.
Up until Polly was admitted recently to a nursing home, she was always involved with retired Sears associates. The big event of the year she helped plan for all retired Sears associates was the annual Christmas Party that
was always held at "The Club" in Birmingham.
Polly was loved and will be missed by many. God Bless her.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, the family, at this time. I was fortunate to know, visit and love both Johnnie and Miss Polly. My children were recipents of her goodies, and her love. A light here has been dimmed, but I know she is shining bright in heaven with Johnnie.

Polly possessed a kind and loving spirit. Although she had no children of her own, she loved and cared for each one she met. She had energy that would put a young person to shame and still cut her own grass until she was in her 90s. She leaves this earth with many positive footprints left behind.
