Funeral for Pauline Childs, 85, of Decatur will be Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Al Barton officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Childs, who died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at her residence, was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Morgan County to Frank Llewellyn Marlow and Nannie Senie Graham Marlow. She was a loving mother of eight children, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith, dedicated to God and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buel Robert Childs; one son, Robert Earl Childs; two daughters, Helen Marie Childs and Doris Lee Jackson; and one brother, Audie Austin Marlow.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Ray Childs of North Carolina, Paul Marlow Childs of Decatur and Freddie Llewellyn Childs of Eva; two daughters, Sharon Ann Binkley of Decatur and Geraldine Jackson of Hartselle; two sisters, Ester Marveline Van Loon of Hammond, Ind., and Carolyn Sue Glenn of Danville; 16 grand-children; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Perky Campbell, Rodney Childs, Adam Glover, Shayne Campbell, Justin Baker, Joshua Childs, Mark Miller and Jeffrey Glenn.
