if only I could see you down here again .... I miss u so much, heck we all miss u. It's been 12 years but it still seems like yesterday that I was playing with u, watching u grow, playing ball, etc. Ur memory lives strong in my heart....I cherished every moment with you.... I'll never forget you....you always made me proud (still do ) and me knowing that God used you for His plan....that's a statement in itself that doesn't have to be explained. Till we meet again my son ..... I love u .... Dad

Payton,
I've been putting off writing you this letter because I wanted to have the perfect thing to say to you so that you would truly understand how much everyone really loved you. But as I found out there is no perfect thing to say. I'm sure that you are with us all and that you know how we all feel. You have touched our lives, everyone that knew you's lives. You had such an impact on us before you went to Heaven and you continue to touch our lives. It can be anywhere, at any time. I can go in a restraunt and see somoeone wearing your #18 necklace, go to the mall and see be stopped by someone that saw my Diers #18 tattoo and hear them tell me tthat they went to TJC with you and how everyone that knew you on campus has the greatest respect for you, and then to read your guestbook and see that even one of the counselors named their baby after you. Payton, you truly were and are our star. You were such great person and a wonderful nephew. I know that all of our family is so close and how I wish we could have had soo many more great memories with you than we had. Everything is so different now. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Family reunions, Halloween, even just family get togethers at Ganny's house are drastically different now. We get together and go through the motions but I know every time it's on everyone's mind that Payt is not here. It was so good on Halloween to see your #18 painted on some people's faces. You were painted on their faces but you were really in our thoughts, on our minds, and in our hearts. You are so missed. Our whole family is so different without you. We believe that you are still around us. I know that I talk to you all the time and you best be listening to me. I know that your last couple of days here with us were horrible for you and that really bothers me so much. I would have done anything to take that pain away from you. I'm so very proud of you for being so strong and fighting as long as you did. Payton, I guess the perfect thing to say would be: I love you. We all do. Save us all a spot and kiss Mamaw for me. We miss you Payt.

I can't believe it has been a year ago that I was setting up a memorial poster and facebook site for everyone to tell you how they will miss you. As the college counselor, that's my job. But as I talked to people to help them deal with the loss of you I felt like I got to know you some. You meant so much to so many. Life has a way of making a full circle. On September 22 this year, my grandchild Paytin was born. Not usually a girl name... but a beautiful one that reminds me of you. God bless you (which I'm sure he already has) and your family.

I got to know Payton thru Rheagan Darr because she worked for me at my tanning salon. I remember seeing him up there all the time sitting with Rheagan when she had to work late. He took care of my girl and I never had to worry about her being up there at night closing the salon by herself. She loved him dearly. You all are in my prayers! God Bless!

The Peyton I knew..
I had heard about Peyton for years from my granny (Polly Werner), he was special to her. I think he was about 6 when they meet, and he wouldnt say much just watch her. She told stories of the little boy that had grown into such a great youngman, and I had the pleasure of meeting him the year before he went to be with our father. What a Child, brother, friend, cousin, teammate, boyfriendand all around great person he was.. As a churhmember Peyton attend regulary with the rest of the Diers crew and always lite up my grannys face bending down to hug her neck. She teased him she was gonna stand in the pew if he got any taller. We sure did miss ya last Sunday during collection, your are deeply missed by many.. I was one of the lucky ones that was blessed with knowing such a great person, Last night marked one year and at the close of the National Night Out Party dedicated to your memory we stopped to pray, remebering what a fine Young Man your were.. Our children are given as blessings, and what a blessing it was to know such a child. Granny talks about the Diers boys constanly and belive me, her prayers go out every night for the three of them, even though we understand our time on earth is limited, But thru brotherhood in our Savior we will meet again. Until then I can only imagine.. Ruston, Ryan, Rhonda and Scott we love ya'll dearly..

Rhonda, Scott, Ryan and Rustin,
Cannot believe it has been a year. Trent and I to this day still talk about the good times we shared with Payton in the deli at school and Trent still talks about the good times they had in math class. We miss him greatly and wish we could share those good times with him again. Your family is in our prayers always and we wish the best for all of you throughout your life. Payton was a great guy with lots of ambition, love for people and kindness. I can say for myself and probably others that he touched someones life in some way. He is greatly missed and will always be.

Hey Ya'll!!
Man has this been a long road....and a very hard year. And theres no dout that this is gonna be a hard day. I am praying for ya'll today! But I thought I'd let ya'll know that for the past year every once and a while I would google Payts name and every time I would find something new about him. The first time I read all the news paper write ups about the accident and how important he was to us, his family and that baseball team. It's amazing how many people have such great things to say about him! I hope that one day when my time comes I have touched as many lives as Payton did. He was and still is such a AWESOME person. And he will forever live on in all our hearts. I think it's awesome that ya'll are printing this guest book, you will always know how many people cared about him and how much. I am also sure that Payt hears us daily calling his name, wishing we could just have one more day, one more converstation, and one more I love you....but I can promise you...he can hear us and I could bet that he is wishing the same!! Payton will forever be in my heart and mind. As will ya'll too! Love you all so much!!

There's not to much I can say.. It hurts just thinking about it. Dallas & I were in 3rd period today talking about all the good times at the farm! and how I ran around chasing you one time after you scared me and the other girls half to death... I miss those memories.... I miss everything that has to do with you!.. You are someone I look up to...And im sure many others feel the same way. Your brothers and Brian remind me of you so much. And I don't understand how Rhonda is so strong threw this! She has a heart of gold along with the rest of your family! Not a day goes by that me and miss dallas don't talk about you : /! It hurts so bad sometimes.. but then I just think of how bad your family must be hurting. And it's unbearable! They're are lucky they have eachother..! I miss you Payton Scott. Dear Scott, Rhonda, & Family,
As you know, Pay was our "adopted" son. God blessed us with his gentle spirit, his sweet nature, and his unconditional love. His quiet nature and honest talks will forever be missed in our home. However, with all that said, his quiet voice still speaks to us daily through simple sun rises and sunsets that always remind us of him. He is loved to this day and I can't wait to see him again.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you how much I love you all and how much I miss your son and brother. I know tomorrow is going to be hard for everyone who knew Payt and even those who didnt. Payton was and is an amazing man who meant the world to me and I will never forget him or the memories we shared together and the great times we had. Payton will forever be in my heart and will always be the best man I have ever known. He was kind, forgiving, loving, generous, compassionate, loyal, and honest...all qualities of which I hope to possess. He is a man I am SO PROUD to say I knew very well. May he Rest In Peace, I love all of you with all of my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you everyday. Your family means everything to me and I am so glad that God blessed me with the opportunity to know you and the ability to love Payton.

Your still in my thoughts and prayers since the night I met you at the hospital. Your son, the very few times i'd met him, was a wonderful person and so much fun to be around. He is strongly missed but we all know he is with us. May God continue to be with your family and all the friends of Payton. Just know he is always with you and watching over you. Ruston thank you so much for being so strong at the hospital. I have never forgotten how you came up to me numerous times and just hugged me and told me everything would be alright. I pray for you and your family every day. Thanks kiddo.

Dear Scott and Rhonda and the boys
I am still thinking of you and hope that you are doing good. I know that it is still hard to believe that Payton has gone home to be with Jesus, but you know that Jesus has given him a very special job. That job is to look out after everyone that he had loved in his life time and he can really help everyone now. And that is his job now. With this family he will have his hands full.
With all my love.

How blessed we are to have all of you in our family and to have had the privilege of having you precious boys in our lives and to see you grow into such fine young men. We will all miss that wonderful smiling face of Payton's, but may we find comfort in knowing that God is smiling at him right now and talking with him face to face. He was a wonderful Christian young man who will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. His death has touched and changed so many lives. God's grace is sufficient and our prayer is that you feel His presence, His strength, and His comfort in the difficult days ahead. Dear Diers family,
Even though I only knew Payton from Apache baseball, it was quickly apparent after his accident the number of people who loved and cared about him. That shows how many lives he touched while he was with us on earth. God put him here for a reason, and He had a reason to take him home early. You both did a great job raising Payton and I will certainly keep Ryan and Ruston in my prayers as they continue their journey. May God bless you all.

Thank you for raising such a wonderful, christian young man and we are so very thankful to have been blessed with is love, friendship and laughter in our home. May I say, our world needs more like Payton! The holes in our hearts can only be healed with time and the love of the Lord. May God continue to bless you all...and to the team....you have an ANGEL in the outfield! My deepest sympathies..

So many beautiful years raising this wonderful young man and then suddenly to have to let go....
a sadness so deep it feels like it will last forever. Slowly the memories ...the little ones and the big ones....will give you daily comfort and fill the deep hole in your heart. I only met Payton once but from reading all that was written about him, his specialness is woven into the
fabric of every person he touched.
His example of how to live and love
life and give your best will keep his memory close.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I cannot begin to imagine how hard this all must be. I have watched all the boys as they grew up playing baseball through the years. Scott and Rhonda you have raised them right and they are great kids. Payton is now smiling down on you all as he is in a wonderful place. Take peace in knowing that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Scott, Rhonda and boys:
Obviously, we have no idea of the pain that you are going through right now with the loss of a son. It has to be the most difficult loss of any in this life. We share in your loss, as Payton was a great friend of our boys. Payton was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by the program. We had such admiration for him and loved watching him pitch. He had such a presence and command of the ballgame when he was on the mound. Hopefully, that demeanor rubbed off on his teammates.
Your family will remain in our prayers. We love you guys.
