Pearl Pennington, 97, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at The Willows in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Church of God, St. Joseph. Those wishing to sign Pearl's Memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Pearl was born April 18, 1915 in Bradford, Arkansas to Albert L. & Julia A. (Burnett) Osborne. On April 6, 1936, she married William A. Pennington in Arkansas. After moving to the Twin Cities area, Pearl was employed by Musselman's Canning Factory in St. Joseph, retiring in 1980 after twenty-five years. She was a member of the First Church of God in St. Joseph, and a former member of Crystal Springs Church of God in Benton Harbor. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, her yard, her home, and cooking for her family at holidays and any other special occasion. Pearl always kept busy. Pearl is survived by two sons-Al Pennington & Dale (LouAnn) Pennington, both of St. Joseph; a grandson Brian (Krissy) Pennington of Pataskala, OH; a granddaughter-in-law Sarah Pennington of Indianapolis; seven great-grandchildren-Molly, Benjamin, Brady, Peyton, Kylie, Zoe, & Lily; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, her husband William on September 6, 1994, and by a grandson Corey Pennington on October 23, 2012.
