Aberdeen: Mass of Christian burial for Peggy D. Ackerman, 68, Aberdeen, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Ave. NE. Father J. Joseph Holzhauser will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Aberdeen.

Liturgical wake service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, at the mortuary and one hour prior to the funeral Thursday, at the church.

Peggy passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009, at her daughter's home in Fort Collins, Colo.

Peggy Diane Ringler was born May 12, 1940, to Harvey and Loretta (Thorpe) Ringler in Hecla, S.D. She was raised on a farm near Hecla, S.D., and attended Johnson Country School and the Hecla High School. Peggy excelled in sports, was a cheerleader and Snow Queen in 1958. Peggy graduated in 1958 and worked at Northern Bell in Aberdeen as a telephone operator.

She married Jim Glover in December of 1958. They had four children from that union, David Glover, Todd Glover, Jackie Glover Nesby and Rod Glover.

Peggy attended cosmetology school and graduated in 1971. She then managed Adam & Eve until 1976, when she started her own shop, Lords & Ladies. Due to health reasons, Peggy had to stop hair dressing in 1980.

In 1981, she married Charles Ackerman. She managed the Body Shop Bar and Pirates Cove until 2003.

Peggy stayed home to take care of her husband who has Parkinson's.

Surviving Peg are her husband, Charles Ackerman of Groton; her children and grandchildren, Dave (Dianne) Glover of Sioux Falls, S.D., and their children, David Glover Jr., Darren Glover and Ashley Erichson, Todd (Becky) Glover of Aberdeen, S.D., and their children, Bobbi Jo Zens, Shane Glover, Samantha (Branden) Jepsen, Shelby Glover and Stephanie Glover, Jackie (Brian) Nesby of Fort Collins, Colo., and their children, Jessica Fiedler, Cassondra Nesby and Tyler Nesby, Rod Glover of Fargo, N.D., and his children, Savanah Glover and Sydney Glover; nine great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters, Mary Jane (Morrie) Hansen of Mina, S.D., Susan (Scotty) Stephens of Rapid

City, S.D., Connie Skatvold of Aberdeen, S.D., Steven (Diane) Ringler of Rapid City, S.D., and Tom (Fran) Ringler of Winterpark, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jerry and Michael Ringler; one niece Michelle Burckhard; and her dear friend, Dee Fiedler.
