Peggy Ann Livingston Willard

January 10, 1944 - August 27,2023

Peggy Ann Livingston Willard 79 of Little River, SC, passed away on August 27, 2023, at Grand Strand Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Peggy was born on January 10, 1944, in Wampee, South Carolina. Peggy was the daughter of the late Lutie and Wilbur Livingston.

Peggy Ann is a native of the beach area and attended Wampee Schools and graduated from Wampee High in 1962. Peggy was very athletic and played basketball in high school and played in a softball league for years. She was always involved in her church and would always take her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighborhood children to Church and Vacation Bible School. Peggy worked outside of the home for many years but became a stay-at-home mom to her three sons. They lived in Willard Subdivision in Little River where the neighborhood children were always playing ball in Willard's big front yard. Peggy had many names - Peggy Ann to all her family and close friends, Maw Maw and Ma Peggy to her wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren and Sister to all her brothers and her only sister Billie. Peggy's home was always open to all the children in the hood. Fond memories of summers spent putting up vegetables under the big Willard carport. Where Peggy would feed all the kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and dare us to go inside.

Living Water Baptist Church became home away from home for Peggy. At one time she was the manager of the kitchen and coordinated all the meals at church events. Her parents ran a restaurant in the 60's - for many years called "Fork's Drive-In". A local hot spot for all the high school kids. All the Livingston siblings helped in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.

The Livingston family consisted of 13 children - All boys except for 2 girls. Peggy was born right in the middle of the boys. So needless to say - she grew up being a tom-boy. She grew up playing with her brothers and could outrun, out climb and probably beat them all up! She was loved by her siblings - she was always there for them - from weddings, bridal & baby showers, - she hosted them all. She was the rock of all our Livingston gatherings and could cook some good ole country food!

The loves of her life in her last days were all her grandchildren and great grands. She loved seeing them and spending time with them. It is what kept her going daily, Peggy's health would not stop her from doing just that. She would never let anyone know how bad she felt and kept doing what she needed to do. By the grace of God, is how she had strength to do just that.

She loved Jesus and always putting him first. She let everyone know that - and would always witness to all her friends, family and strangers. If she was not witnessing, she was doing acts of kindness. She will be missed by everyone.

Surviving is her husband, Starlin Willard; son, Chauncey Willard (Missy); Son,

Ronald Willard (Dawn); son, Eric Willard (Alex); her grandchildren, Alex Chauncey Willard, Ethan Willard (Elisabeth), Bry Willard, Austin Willard, Reid Willard, Joey Small, Sami Small, Ariel (Jake) Trottman (Jonathan), Trista Willard, Kaleigh Morgan and Alexis Torres, her Great Grandchildren; Ava Kate Willard, Ezra Willard, Preston Willard Zack Trottman, Avery Trottman, Gabriel Torres, Yessa Torres and Cami Torres. Her Brothers; Larry Livingston, Bobby Livingston, James Livingston, Elton Livingston, Terry Livingston (Suzanne), and Sister in Laws; Margie Livingston, Pam Livingston and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Peggy's Parents preceded her death along with members of her loving family; Her Dear Sister, Billie Livingston Todd (Kenneth), Wayne Livingston, Sammy Livingston, Barry Livingston, Cheryl Livingston, Jan Livingston, Kathy Livingston, Debbie Livingston, Tracy Livingston and Ronald & Donald Livingston.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Living Water Baptist Church on Sept 2, 2023, visitation at

10:00am and Service at 11:00am. Her Body was donated to MUSC Anatomical Gift Program in Charleston South Carolina for Science Research per her wishes.

So sorry to hear that Peggy passed. She was a friend to all and will be missed. She loved her family dearly and was so caring and compassionate to others less fortunate. She will be missed but never forgotten. Personally, I will cherish all the fond memories of Peggy. She was always so kind to me and treated me like family. The family can take comfort knowing that she is now in God's loving care. Loving thoughts, hugs, condolences and prayers are with her special family. Rest in peace longtime friend.

Peggy and I were friends for over 35 years and I never saw her that she was not smiling and hugging me. We shared our first Grandson and our second Grandson and we loved being Mama Peggy and Mama Joan. We shared many meals together and went to church together and worshiped our Lord and praised him for good times and clung to His hand in hard times. I pray that all who have been touched by her will be touched by the One who holds her now. Nothing in this world is worth the gift of Salvation that is free . I loved sweet Peggy very much.

Met Peg Ann through her niece Tracie. She was bigger than life, happy and extremely matter of fact. As I got to know her over 20 years helping her family with their mortgage needs I found a warm, compassionate, funny lady. I will miss her.
