Peggy Lind Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 28 to Mar. 30, 2023.
Peggy Marie (Hailes) Lind

1953- 2023

Mesquite, NV-Peggy passed away in her home, March 27, 2023 following a six-year cancer battle.

Born September 30, 1953 in Salt Lake City to John "Jack" Morris and Pauline (Peck) Hailes as the 2nd of 6 children. She went to Glendale and South High, before graduating from Bingham High School and attending Brigham Young University.

She was skilled in, and enjoyed, painting and handiwork, music, family history, and cooking and sewing. Her church service included many leadership positions everywhere she lived. Of all she did though, she loved being a wife and stay-at-home mom most.

She met her husband, Chris, on a blind date in March 1988 - they were married 2 months later, in the Jordan River Utah Temple. They took their 2 children and followed Chris' career to South Dakota, Germany, Ireland, and Pennsylvania, along with many unique vacations. Finally escaping the snow and humidity, they retired to Mesquite, NV.

Her children remember her always being able to create or make something ten times better than what could be purchased, doctoring recipes fit for a restaurant and staying up late to help with any homework or project. She loved reading to her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her husband Chris, daughter Anne Marie Stirland (Mitch) and son Taylor John Lind (Chelsea); grandchildren Chandler Lind, Bern Jack Stirland, Nora Lind, Arthur Dee Stirland, and Carter Lind; mother, Pauline, and siblings Pat, Penny, Joyce (Brent) and Phillip (Jackie).

Her father, Jack, and youngest sister, Lynn predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2023 at 12pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Bunkerville chapel. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations, in Peggy's name, to the Huntsman Cancer Institute to further research, in hopes that soon there will be a cure for this horrible disease.

Dear Hailes and Lund families,
I lived in Van Buren Ave
Across the street from Peggy for about 8 yrs. Before moving to Cedar City, Ut. Peggy came through town and called to see if we could get together about 35 yrs ago? I agreed to come meet her where she had stopped in Cedar City passing through. It was a
lovely gesture for her to make time to visit with me.
I hadn´t seen her since we were in our teens until then. I have fun and fond memories of Peggy, from
Getting fished out of 3 Dr of mud by Polly when my yard had just had a sewer
Line put in in front! I think she used a 2x4! We had fun sleep overs although I usually got homesick around 12 am and walked across the street and got into my own bed!! We spent hours out in the fields behind her home to bridle up a couple horses
to ride, those were the best of times exploring those fields behind their home. When her father , Jack was in a riding group
Called the Palomino Posse
The performed in parades
I believe, anyway Peggy and U would go with Jack
And watch them rehearse,
And wander around explore, and hang out with another kid or two.
I remember picking fresh
Peppers and eating them fresh from her grandma´s garden. I remember her redecorating her bedroom all in orange, at the time it was her favorite color! It was pretty jazzy! We had a-lot of fun riding bikes up and down our street practicing
riding with no hands. I would help her do dishes if it was needed before
Play . She had a garbage disposal in her sink and I had never seen or used one before. I thought it was scary but not Peggy
She used it with confidence which she always seemed to have.
Your wife, mother, daughter, sister was one of my best friends until she went to South High.
I was a year younger.
I loved her and always knew I would have fun
adventure playing with her and doing things with her family they were fun
People to spend time with!
