LIBERTY - Mrs. Peggy Whitesell Shaw, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Duke Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor. She was an active member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Peggy was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook and a caring member of the Mt. Pleasant community for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Emma Whitesell; brother, Newman; and sisters, Nadine and Rena.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 62 years, James W. Shaw; son, Wayne Shaw (Vicky) of Clarksville; daughter, Linda S. Shaw (Roger Deese) of Durham; son, Kevin L. Shaw (Teresa) of Graham; and granddaughter, Ashley Shaw Moore of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.
