Passed away at the young age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer on March 13, 2021. Peter leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Stephanie Wiegand. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Ruth Barranco. Cherished brother of Helena (Graeme), Barbara (John), David, Kim, and dearest cousin of Luiz (Rosana). Devoted uncle of Tyler, Amber, Nautasha, Ryan, Isaiah, Richard, Alex, and their families. Peter will be greatly missed by extended family and friends. In memory of Peter, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. followed by a Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Ryman Rd E, Hamilton. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, all guests must RSVP at www.dermodys.com or by calling 905-388-4141 and wear a mask while in attendance. Please take a moment to leave an online condolence.

My condolences to Peter and his family as Peter was a very good friend of mine. I would’ve loved to be at the service but under the circumstances I was sick from an pneumonia and just got out of the hospital. I wasn’t well enough to come but my intention was to. My best wishes are with his family
