Peter Colt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 22 to Oct. 24, 2023.
Daytona Beach - The world got a little dimmer and heaven a little brighter on September 28, 2023 when Peter Colt passed away. Peter was a man for all seasons, unless you were talking about sports. He loved music, motorcycles, lively conversations, squirrels and homeless kittens. His ability to fix what ails your vehicle could only be surpassed by his passion for protecting his property rights and those of his neighbors. He was a humble champion of the underdog and was the kind of guy who would give you $10 if you asked him for $1. He was the friend you'll never forget.

Peter was born in Warren, PA on December 19, 1944. He was a high school teacher and a college Dean of Students before settling in Daytona Beach, FL as an apartment owner and managing partner of Colt Ventures and Colt Properties. He wasn't much of a volleyball player but was pretty good at drinking beer with the team after games. He loved playing his guitars and discussing the news of the day on his front porch with anyone who stopped by.

Peter was lovingly tolerated by his wife, Jyan, (kidding) and adored by his daughter, Corey.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, P. Howard, and Margaret M. Colt along with his sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) Colt Brinkley. He leaves behind a brother-in-law, and his wife, his three nephews and their families, and countless friends.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled for Spring 2024.
