PETER DeLOUIS Obituary
PETER ANTHONY
Pete was an accomplished psychologist with offices in Dormont and Oakmont. In his practice he devoted his life to helping people, especially children, find emotional peace. Pete valiantly battled leukemia and peacefully passed over to the Lord on Tuesday, 6-12-2012. Pete was preceded in death by his late wife and soul-mate, Carolyn Marie Gierlach of New Castle. Pete is survived by his children, Christy and Tony; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark DeLouis; four sisters, Nancy, Tricia, Anna and Ginny; and two brothers, Mark and Joey. Pete will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. SUNDAY at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1225 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks, where funeral prayers are offered 10:30 a.m. MONDAY, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Ascension Roman Catholic Church, Ingram.

When MY family met Pete back in 2005, my older two children were angry and hurt from losing my father, and going through a divorce with their father and I. My eight year old son, especially was raging and lashing out almost every day. Their appointments together each week were a refuge for our whole family. He helped my son through one of the roughest patches I can imagine a boy going through. Rob just this year moved on to junior high with all A's and a good attitude and a wonderful set of coping skills that have helped him through many rough times since he and Pete stopped meeting in 2007. I no longer have any worries that he will grow to be the kind, successful young man he was intended to be. I wish I had gotten a chance to thank Pete for such a wonderful gift. He was an excellent psychologist and a very special person.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE LOSS OF A GOOD FRIEND IN PETE, I WILL REMEMBER ALL THE GOOD TIME WE HAD PLAYING BASKETBALL OVER AT HAMILTON JR. HIGH SCHOOL. HE WILL REALLY BE MISSED MY DEEPEST SYMATHY.

Christy, Tony, Nancy and Mr. and Mrs. Delouis,
I was shocked to see the sign at McDermotts this morning. Tony and Carol were the best neighbors and good friends while we lived at Windgap.
I will always remember Tony reading while walking his dog and Carol helping me get to the hospital with Ernie when he suffered his dog bite.
My prayers are with you during this difficult time.
