After living a full life filled with love and dreams, Peter passed away peacefully to rejoin his wife of 50 years, Gardie. The love they shared was inspirational; they were best friends who made it a point of sharing moments everyday and always holding hands. Peter's career included working as a surveyor in Northern BC, spending a year at the Engineering Research Institute in Sweden, doing research at the National Research Council and then working for Transport Canada where he became the chief of Airport planning. After taking early retirement, Peter followed his artistic dreams. He painted, designed sailboats, and wrote historical novels. He loved sailing and working alongside Gardie in their gardens, both in Ottawa and at their cottage at Green Lake. Peter and Gardie were loving and fun parents, always playing with their children and encouraging them in their pursuits. Peter will be missed by his three children Edward (and his wife Kae), Brenda (and her partner Faruk), and Peter (and his partner Annie). He had one granddaughter Maya who will always have a place in her heart for her Opa. Peter was born in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que. to his parents Samuel Raymond Norris and Sibyl Nora Hodgins as the youngest of three children. He has always been much loved by his sister Jacquey Murchison and her family and his late brother Dr. Allen Hodgins. Friends may visit at Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Funeral Home, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor), Ottawa on Wednesday, November 25 from 12 - 1 p.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Hearing Society.
