HOLT, Peter
April 17, 1947 - May 27, 2014
On May 27, 2014, Peter Eric Holt set sail on this new adventure. Peter was born in Victoria, April 17,1947 and moved to Burnaby Mountain where he spent his childhood until he went north to become an Iron Worker; eventually returning to the Lower Mainland to work on some major structures, like the Second Narrows bridge, Mica Creek Dam and the Bill Bennett Dam, that we still see today. In 1973, he joined the Burnaby Fire Department where he served for 30 years, retiring as a Captain in 2003. Peter also owned and operated Cedarwest Excavating for many years where he enjoyed digging in the dirt! Peter loved what he did and had a passion for hunting and fishing. Many will remember him for his amazing cooking and his good limericks. "Who has more fun than people". Peter is survived by his loving wife Iris, daughters Tarja (Darren), Erika (Kris), Jacqueline (Jesse), stepdaughter Elisa (Jason) and eight grandchildren Mikyle, Raija, Parker, Isabel, Paivi, Jessica, Connor and Jacob, who will greatly miss their Papa. Also, brothers Mike and Terry, sister Carol, nephews Corey, Jordan, Spencer, niece Kimberly. He will also be greatly missed by his many other family members and friends. A Service will be held June 22, 2014 at the Fireman's Club located at 6515 Bonsor Avenue, Burnaby from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
