Peter Paul Makuch, 71, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at his home in Lower Pottsgrove Twp.
He was the husband of Alma Helen Murphy Makuch for 51 years.
Born in Nanticoke, Sept. 5, 1951, Peter was the son of the late Peter and Verna Naklicki Makuch.
Pete graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1969, and received his associate degree in business administration from Luzerne County Community College in 1972. He worked as a manager at McDonald's, Wilkes-Barre; and Pizza Hut, Gilbertsville. He was most proud of owning Pete's Comics, Swamp Pike Pub and Petey Bones.
Pete enjoyed playing guitar, building model trains, jigsaw puzzles, collecting comic books, watching the New York Jets, golfing, testing his luck at the casino and listening to music, especially his favorite band, The Rolling Stones. Beyond all else, Pete loved spending time in his favorite place, his backyard.
In addition to his wife, Pete is lovingly remembered by his children, Alma (Michael Maddox) Smith, Thérese Makuch and Pete Makuch; grandchildren, Nicollette (Michael) Pennington, Kalley (Jarred) Reinert and Zakkary Kehs; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Norah, Kennedy and Lylah; and brother, Joseph (Karen) Makuch.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown.

My condolences to Pete's family on his passing. I graduated from NHS with Peter, and we were members of Holy Trinity School class of 1965. I remember Pete as being a very nice guy. May he rest in peace, Amen.
