Peter J. Schneider

Peter J. Schneider, 50, of Rochester, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, of complications from a stroke, surrounded by his loving family and special friend, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.

Peter James Schneider was born March 25, 1964, in Rochester, to Eugene Michael and Frances Julene (Stevens) Schneider. He was raised on a farm north of Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1982. He lived in Rochester and was currently employed by Forsythe Appraisals as a real estate appraiser.

Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, reading, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

Peter is survived by his brothers and sisters, Michael Schneider of Minneapolis, Barbara (Larry Luhmann) Haley of Plainview, Judy (Harold) Schumacher of Plainview, Gene (Judy) Schneider of Millville, Bob Schneider of Owatonna, John Paul (Kathy) Schneider, Sam (Gail) Schneider and Greg (Mary) Schneider, all of Plainview, and Patty (Joe) Bahr of Bloomington; 32 nieces and nephews; 59 great-nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles; and special friend, Lorna Lubinski of Plainview and her sons, Zachary, Bryce (Megan) and Cole, and grandson, Bentley.

Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene "Bud" and Frances Schneider, brother-in-law, Tom Haley, nephew, Robbie Houghton and great-nephew, Jackson Schneider.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview, with Father William Becker officiating. Burial is at the St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
