Peter Weindorfer Jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 11, 2024.
Peter Gordon Weindorfer Jr passed away on August 16, 2024 at his residence in Hatboro, PA. He is survived by his children Peter III and Amanda, grandson Bryson, as well as siblings April, Joseph, and Heather.

Peter found joy in life through sports, teaching, and family.

He was known by teammates along with rivals as an "unhittable" pitcher in high school, and earned a scholarship to play at Monmouth University. Peter loved basketball even more, and was recognized for Athletic Achievement at Montgomery County Community College. He continued playing in pickup games and adult leagues into his 40s, coached both of his children's teams, and passionately cheered on/booed the Philadelphia 76ers.

Mr. Weindorfer earned a Masters Degree in Education from Temple University, and throughout his career led classrooms of elementary & middle school students, primarily in the inner-city. He was known to bring snacks, toys, and trading cards in for his students as rewards. Many of his best friends throughout his life he met as colleagues at school.

One of Peter's favorite things to do outside of the classroom and sports arenas was trips to the shore with his family. He loved spending time in Wildwood, New Jersey with his kids, his parents, and his siblings. He made a lasting impression on those he encountered with his quick wit, distinctive sense of humor, and unique ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.

Peter's life will be honored at Gloria Dei Church in Huntington Valley on Friday, September 13th, 2024. Visitation begins at 10:30AM followed by service at 11.
