Phil was born February 1, 1946 in Gorman, Texas to the late Frances (Scott) Brewer and Bill Brewer. He married Karen Blackwell January 2, 1969 in Hereford, Texas. Phil owned his own trucking business hauling cattle for many years.

Phil started riding bulls in his early teenage years. He pursued this sport for many years. He was very successful at it. He rode bulls for the South Plains and Sul Ross rodeo teams. After getting married he and Karen bought an old truck and started hauling hay among other things. They then started a cutting and baling hay business. This led to a bigger and better truck. The cattle hauling business was born and they did that for 43 years. Phil and Karen worked together all these years. They drove team in the truck for the last 10 years.

Phil was a very good truck mechanic and very knowledgeable. He never minded helping anyone who was looking for advice. Bull riding and Cow Hauling were his passions. He never minded helping anyone in need. He loved his family and always took care of them.

Survivors include; wife, Karen Brewer of Graham; sons, Todd Brewer of Graham and Jay Brewer and wife Meagan of Graham; three grandchildren, Emerson, Kellen, and Boden Brewer; sister, Vicki Wheeler and husband Robert of Mineral Wells; aunt, Jewell Kimmel of DeLeon, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

I have very fond memories of Phil. He worked hard and played hard. He helped my dad to laugh and I think feel good about himself. When I grew up he did the same for me giving me a chance to help myself. A wonderful man.
