Phil O'Kane Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 5, 2010.
O'Kane, Phil 51, of Lakeville, Minnesota, formerly of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away suddenly at his home on February 27, 2010. Phil was a devoted and loving father to his children, Casey, Riley and Mackenzie. Phil was the cherished son of Harry J. and Helen O'Kane of Arlington Heights, Illinois and dear brother of Michael O'Kane (Miami, FL), Catherine Lyon (Omaha, NE), Nancy (Jim) Misch of Arlington Heights, IL and Jim O'Kane (Atlanta, GA). Banger didn't have time to plan anything formal, so a very special celebration of his life, times and adventures will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 12-3 pm at Anthony's Parkway Grille, 251 West Burnsville Parkway, Burnsville, Minnesota (952) 746-8890. He touched all of our lives, so let's give him a great "Chicago-style" send-off. "Come awn" and smile for Banger one last time.

His smile alone was infectious. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. To the O'Kanes, I am deeply sorry for your loss, Phil was a great guy. It's hard to describe adequately how he touched people's lives. Perhaps it was his boyish smile, his love of life and his tireless pursuit of fun and adventure. Grieve not because he is gone, but smile because he lived. God bless Phil and all of you.

To the O'Kane clan,
Phil was a very dear friend of mine and my family. He always made time to see my folks upon their visits to Minnesota. This only speaks a little about the selflessness of Phil. He always greeted everyone with a warm, genuine smile no matter what was troubling him. He will be sorely missed by countless people. My prayers are with you at your time of loss. God Bless you.
