San Angelo - Philip Stuart Houser was born in San Angelo, Texas to SeaWillow Noelke Houser and William Freeman "Monk" Houser on March 2nd, 1932 and died in the town of his birth February 1, 2021.

Philip spent his childhood in San Angelo and attended Santa Rita Elementary School. He later graduated from Menlo School, a private college preparatory in Atherton, California. He joined the Air Force and received his wings as a pilot in Laredo, Texas in 1954. He attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, graduating with a degree in petroleum land management in 1960. Philip was one of the first of six men to receive this degree. He married Jan Ruth Waters in 1962 and later lived in Corpus Christi where their sons Warren and Hayden were born. After Jan's passing in 1997, Philip married a lifelong friend, Theodocia Taylor in 2000.

Outside of a long career in the oil and gas business he enjoyed golfing, wood-working, spending time with his sons and enjoying summers in Idlewild, New Mexico with both friends and family.

Philip was a long-standing member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in San Angelo. Philip and his wife Theo created a choir scholarship fund after being inspired by the Easter choral performance at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. Philip was also fond of the many activities at Fort Concho. He was proud of being a part of the generations of Noelke ranchers, which began with Ferdinand Noelke in the 1880's.

Philip is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Theodocia Taylor Houser; sons Warren Stuart & Hayden Sterrett Houser, their spouses, Christi and Stephanie; grandchildren Margaret Arden Houser and Elizabeth Jan "Zibby" Houser; stepchildren Scott Keith Taylor and family; Kyle Boston and husband Bob Boston. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved first wife Jan Houser.

Randolph Street, at 11:00 in the morning on Saturday, February 6, 2021, followed by a luncheon reception San Angelo Country Club, 1609 Country Club Road.
