It was with great sadness that I learnt of Philip's passing. I have such happy memories of each week listening to him teach my daughter the piano and then playing himself. Peace for a while in a stressful life and my daughter becoming an incredible pianist. Lovely meals and evenings spent with Philip and Joan, and plenty of amusing times with post (and flowers) bring delivered to my Mum's very similar address. Thank you for all the special memories.

I knew Philip going back to about 1984 when I was 16 and first helped with the Brownies. He was a lovely man. So kind and he would do anything for anybody. He was like everybody's dad. I have really fond memories of him and my life at St Giles West Bridgford. I remember our trips to Lee Abbey. He baptised me as an adult back in 1994 and I was confirmed at Southwell in 1995. After retiring he moved to Newark and then came back to West Bridgford before moving to Oxon to be near his daughter. I just pass on my wishes to his family especially Joan and to Daniel, Simon, Jane and Emma and families. Janine Toulson x
