Philip Ozimek Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 5, 2022.
Philip S. Ozimek, son of Rose and Stanley Ozimek, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of October 29th, 2022 at the age of 55. He attended East Catholic High School, going on to graduate from CCSU with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and received an MBA from Rennselaer. He dedicated his career to building and delivering aircraft engines at Sikorsky and Pratt & Whitney. Phil was an avid sports watcher. He begrudgingly supported the Mets & the Jets and never missed one of Luka's crew regattas or Catherine's volleyball games. He would wake up at dawn, even on the weekends, to take long runs around the Glastonbury area that he loved. He was also a huge AC/DC fan and had multiple guitars around the house for whenever he wanted to attempt to replicate one of their songs. Phil had a warm heart, providing a welcome into his home with a hug and always an exuberant asking of "Hey! What's going on?!" He was the center of his family, providing a table and a meal to sit at every week with generous portions (and a healthy side of ketchup). He set an example to all of his children about how to live and supported them with humor and warmth. He was a man of incredible energy and a joy to the people around him, always there with a joke or a story (even if you had heard it many times before). Phil had an uncanny ability of always running into people that he knew, whether in a local restaurant or across the country. In addition to his wife Amy, he is survived by his son Lukasz Ozimek, daughter Catherine Ozimek, and step-children Kayla Mosher & Andrew Mosher. Phil also leaves his brother David Ozimek & his wife Anne, as well as his brother Thomas Ozimek. Phil also has a large extended family with many cousins that he kept in contact with and his beloved godmother Aunt Virginia. All who knew him are invited to join a celebration of Phil's life at the Tiffany Juliet House (82 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury CT) on Sunday, November 6th from 3-6 pm

Phil was of the most affable, individuals I have ever met. Always could be counted on to "be there" if you needed him, and was. I will never forget his incredibly kind heart and his ability to listen to you when you truly needed it. So, so many funny memories I can not express here, but will live in my heart forever. My deepest sympathy to his entire family and to those whose lives he touched. I will deeply miss you brother. "Ride on (Ride on)"

I will always remember Phil as someone who loved his family, was passionate about his work, and was easy to talk to and joke with about life. His smile, and energy will be missed.
