Judy Gary + Family
I am finding it difficult to send my condolences to you between tears about your mom, and my dearest only sister. I wouldnt have accomplished so much in life if it hadnt been for her being older. She led me to a straight and narrow path.Taught me so much how to cook, crochet, needelpoint, sew, hook rugs etc. When my family flew the coup she invited me to be an employee at her business and I learnd so much more with her generous compliments about how well I accomplished everything. She was a good teacher and i will certainly miss her in my life but overwhelmed to have her all these years! Love Jean

In Loving Memory of a Truly Fair Lady
“Aunt Phyllis's Smile” If you had the pleasure to see, by no means could you ever forget.
She greeted you as if she was looking at the most enchanting array of exceptional roses,
In an empress's garden she made you feel that you were exceptional.
Your Mom was like a rose in the garden, elegant with grace.
She had the scent of blossoms, a supreme fragrance from dawn to dusk.
Her frame poise and stature was always reaching to the sun.
She survived ice storms, political economy ups and downs.
As children at a young age, the sisters Phyllis and Jean struggled with a life without their mother
Ethel Blanche Mitchell born 4/7/1895 passed 12/7/1919.
She died on the shores of Newfoundland at a very young age of 24.
A Newfoundland Grandmother cared for them which laid a foundation for us to follow.
Elizabeth Mitchell, maiden name Washer born 10/8/1868 passed in 1971 at the splendid age of 103.
Their father John Malcom Wilcox Squires 15/9/1890 passed in 31/8/1949.
Their dad settled in Montréal for work.
The sisters left NFLD to be with the Squires family at the age of 5 and 3 1/2 in Montréal.
The girls lived with their dad's Mother Eliza (Wilcox) Squires in Park Extension Montréal North .
He remarried to Irene Stone in 1929, then son Jack Squires born in 1939.
The Girls kept in touch with their roots.
There are family from the east coast to the west and into the states.
Many known to live into their fine Centenarian age, as did the Grandmother that looked after them.
Aunt Phyllis ran her own store as long as I could remember 1960's, 70's, and 80's.
Her gift for creating with her hands and eyes was imbedded in her many stores.
Whatever your pleasure!
There were picture framing they made themselves, needle point pictures & patterns.
Hue of light reflecting colors showered the walls with pure cottons and wools.
Only to be found in Phyllis's store.
You were mesmerized as you visualized this rainbow of beauty.
Classes you would dream of, she taught.
Later she organized the First Miniature Club to share her love of the arts.
Custom Framing by: PHYLCOR at 38 Centre Commeriale, Roxboro, Quebec.
I loved to visit, to enjoy her gift of knowledge that flowed out effortlessly.
In her home private needle point pictures hung as they comforted her surroundings. She had worked countless hours on.
Aunt Phyllis was the true meaning of grounded and a strong female for everyone to admire.
Only to be the best mother a mother can be!
She was of Royalty!
The Special Family Holiday gathering will always be sketched in my memory as a child.
Judy I'll never forget our times playing albums of the Beach Boys and Bee Gees
There were many other memorable groups you shared with your young cousin.
You knew the magic of the music then, only now to see its measure.
Always like your mother. You entertained with pleasure and charm.
Gary you were always a great cousin. At first I couldn't understand, but caught on quickly.
Why friends tagged along for family dress up dinners – Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes.
To my dear cousins and your families my heart aches for our loss of a mother and confidant.
Like my Father watches over me, your mother will always be there.
Like the earth and what nourishes it to be awe-inspiring.
It is what is instilled in you, from the Newfoundland women.
We can carry her grace over to teach our families.
You're Mother, grandmother, sister, cousins, and friends
I see my Aunt Phyllis watching over us in that Majestic Bed of Roses.
So take the time when you see the pedals of that precious rose to touch, smell the fragrance and share her smile.
Our thoughts are always with you
Marleen Ellen (Kelly) Daniel and my family

All the members of the Miniature Enthousiasts of Montreal (MEM) offer sincere sympathy to Mrs. Fowler's family. Phyllis was our founding member, as well as the driving force behind the MEM Club for our formative years and for many years after that until she retired. She will be sadly missed.

Dear Judie and Gary,
Please know that I am thinking of you and your families.
I have so many great memories of our times together and of our childhood memories. I last saw your Mum right before I moved to Ontario - we ran into each other at Fairview. Your Mum sat down on a bench with me and Baby Alanna and we had a wonderful chat.
Please accept my most sincere condolences.
Love, Hugs and Kisses,
