Phyllis Richey Obituary

Phyllis L. Richey, of Tuscumbia, Ala., was born Jan. 13, 1952, and left to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 15, 2005. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. Thomas Thornton on Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Richey was a lifelong resident of Colbert County. She spent her life taking care of others first, with Tri-County Health Care and later as the office manager of Whispering Pines Home Health Care until her health forced her to retire.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rickey Richey; parents, Hubert and Bess Roberts; sisters, Charlotte D. Logan and Tammy L. Malone; one grandchild, Tanglia L. Rose; and a son, Brian Keith Richey.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Woods and husband, Wayne, Rachel Butler and husband, Randy; son, Dewayne Green and wife, Juanita; grandchildren, Dewight Holman, Kristen Melson, Ivey Melson, Courtney Butler and Mary Beth Woods.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Taylor, Andy Berryman, Lee McIntyre, Clifford Logan, Bill Gist and Thomas Richey.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lynn Ridgeway and staff and a very special friend, Juanita Taylor.

Colbert Memorial Chapel, of Tuscumbia, is directing.
