MISHAWAKA, IN - Olga Louise “Queenie” McQueen, 89, of Mishawaka, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Elkhart Hospice House.

Queenie was born February 23, 1929 in Mishawaka, the daughter of the late Wiley and Jemima (Harkins) McQueen. She was a 1946 graduate of Mishawaka High School and lived most of her life in Mishawaka and South Bend.

Queenie started working at Ball Band during high school and was employed there until 1976. She later worked for South Bend School Corporation until retirement. At one time, Queenie played softball on a team for Ball Band. She also earned a pilot's license. In her younger days she enjoyed traveling. Queenie loved playing cards, especially Euchre. She dearly loved her cats, enjoyed a good cocktail, and always found beauty wherever she was. Her family fondly remembers how much she loved spending Christmas Eve at her daughter's home with their family and friends.

Queenie is survived by her daughter, Michelle “Chelle” (Mike) Moser of Bremen; four grandchildren, Kellie (Jason) Culp, Kris (Leslie) Moser, Kortny (Emily) Moser, and Koby (Whitley) Moser; and eight great-grandchildren, Cameron Culp, Sydnee Culp, Noah Culp, Bailey Moser, Nolan Moser, Cora Callander, Kane Moser, and Vayda Moser with a ninth great-grandchild to be born in February.

Queenie was preceded in death by her former husband, Russell Termont.

A Gathering to Celebrate Queenie's Life will be held from 3-9 pm on Friday, December 28, at the home of Chelle and Mike Moser, 14969 Riley Road, Bremen.

Memorials are suggested to Pet Refuge or Center for Hospice Care.
