Rest in peace, cousin. It was priviledge to know a blood relative Troupp, even from afar and via the net only. Without your effort I'd be more ignorant about who I am. I will never regret contacting you, never genotyping ourselves, never comparing our ways from Rezekne, Latvia to where ever they lead. You to NY and FL, me to Finland. In my life there are few things I regret. Those which I did not do. I should have flown there. One day I will fly, too, and our paths unite.

Rabbi Troupp taught me how to teach teens about the God they say they don't believe in. He taught me to see that the structure of a service resembles a letter home from camp. I learned so much from him, as did we all. The light of Jewish Education has dimmed. He is missed.

Rabbi Troupp Bar Mitzvahed our 2 sons so he will always be important to us. He always gave interesting, inspiring sermons. After 9/11 his service helped heal a distraught community. Our deepest sympathies to his family.

Rabbi Troupp was a creative and gifted teacher in our Community Hebrew High for decades. He brought many of the skills he honed from years of youth work to our school and inspired countless students with his lessons. On a personal level, he was a kind and generous friend who was a blessing and will be deeply missed.
