Rachel L. Gaucher 1909-2008 SPRINGFIELD - Rachel L. (Bousquet) Gaucher, 99 , Ascended into the Journey of Ever-lasting Life December 4, 2008 from Wingate of Spring-field. Her husband, Alpha Gaucher, predeceased her in 1980. Born in Springfield, Rachel was the daughter of the late Exias and Philomene (Bernier) Bousquest . Prior to her retirement, she worked at Puppolo Plumbing , Springfield. Rachel was a communicant of the former St. Joseph Church, Springfield. She was an active member of the St. Anne Sodality and Springfield Golden Agers. Rachel is survived by a daughter, Dianne V. Salier and her husband Bob , of Sierra Vista, AZ ; 2 grandchildren, Bryan Salier of Boston, and Steven Salier and his wife, Karen Fanelli of Sunrise, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Dec.10th) 9:00 AM from the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated at 10:00 in St. Patrick Church, Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours are Tuesday (Dec.9th) from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. On line condolences and guest book ForastiereFuneralHome. com.

Mr. and Mrs. Salier, Steven and Bryan, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Mrs. Gaucher was such a sweet woman. I remember visiting her on Williams St. in High School with Bryan. May you all find peace, especially during the Holidays. My thoughts are with you all.

Dianne, Bob & family, We are so sorry to hear about your Mom. Even when we think that we are ready - we really aren't. Take some comfort in that there are a lot of people waiting for her - and the party just got a bit bigger...and someday we will get to that party as well.
