HICKS
RALPH E. "BUD," III
Never say goodbye, just say until I see you again! After a long, courageous battle with leukemia, Ralph, 36, of Imperial, North Fayette Twp., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. He was born June 8, 1974, a son of Ralph E. Hicks, Jr., of Imperial, and the late Jaye E. (Hall) Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a member of the Oakdale U.P. Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with family. Surviving in addition to his father are two sisters, Karen Ann (Braxton) Vaughn of Erie and Candace Lynn (Tim) Stalling of Oakdale. He was the cherished uncle of Braxton, II, Justin, Micah, Candace and Tyler, and great-uncle of Zion and Ayonna. Friends will be received 4 p.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, at the Oakdale U.P. Church, 62 Hastings Ave., Oakdale, where service will be held at 5 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to THOMAS- LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE, INC., 305 Main Street, Imperial, (724-695-2800). In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Ralph E. (Bud) Hicks, III Leukemia Fund to assist with expenses. Please sign the guestbook at:

You were taken on to glory 10 years ago. My love for you is ever present, my longing for one more smile and hug are never ending. I rejoice in knowing you have no pain, and you and mommy will be there to greet me upon my arrival. Gone by forever in my thoughts.

As children Candy and I awaited Ralph’s “Bud’s” arrival (a baby brother); as he grew we shared in his love of baseball, wrestling, football and anything else boyish. While he was a young man, we had all gone our own way, yet we shared in each other’s accomplishments and supported each other in our struggles. When he became a man, his life took a turn; we rejoiced as he accepted the Lord as his savior, we loved each other like others wish they had love, we cried and shared in the loss of our mother, we prayed for his recovery/deliverance from leukemia and now we find ourselves waiting in anticipation for the day we all will be reunited. “We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” 2 Cor. 5:8

Bud will always be in our hearts. He fought hard, and is now, surely, in the presence of God.
