HILLER
RALPH A.
Age 92, died August 1, 2017, in Pittsburgh, PA. Born in West Dover, Ohio on June 7, 1925, Ralph was the middle son of Lawrence and Ethel (Lefrink) Hiller. A WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps, he was one of the first Americans into Japan upon the Surrender. After the war, he married Lois Borneman on August 16, 1947, and soon they moved to Nashville, TN, where he became a manufacturer's representative and distributor of hydraulic and pneumatic industrial equipment. After several years in Nashville, they relocated to Pittsburgh in 1950 where he established the Ralph A. Hiller Company, from which he retired in 1990. Ralph enjoyed flying his own plane (he was a member of the select QB pilots club), golf, hunting, fishing, skiing, and ham radio. He was a member for many years of St. Peter's Church, Brentwood, and South Hills Country Club. Ralph is survived by his wife, Lois; his daughter, Linda (David) Mathus; his son, J. Randolph Hiller; grandsons, Benjamin (Crystal) Mathus, and Joshua Mathus; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hiller; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Funeral services and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements made by JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. Please send condolences to www.johnfslater.com.
