A. Jacobson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 9 to Mar. 10, 2008.
JACOBSON A. Louis A. Louis Jacobson, 88, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008, at the Toledo Hospital. The youngest of four children born to Harry M. and Anna S. Jacobson, Lou grew up in the Old West End, graduating from Scott High School and subsequently from the Northern Illinois College of Optometry. A World War II veteran, the source of many stories, Lou practiced optometry in West Toledo and was a member of the Ohio Optometric Association for over fifty years. He enjoyed helping others and was a member of the West Toledo Kiwanis club for over 25 years, in addition to serving as a longtime board member of the former Huntington Farms. Lou was a loving, warm, and kind husband, parent, and grandparent who always was ready with a quip and a bear hug, and who loved being with his family most of all. His wife of 54 years, Ronnie L. Jacobson; his parents, his brothers, Sidney and Jerome and his sister, Ethel; predeceased him. Lou is survived by his daughters, Karin (Robert Seeman) and Joan (Paul Nichols), and by his adored grandchildren, Charlie and Elizabeth Seeman. Many thanks go to his devoted team of caregivers, Neola, Terra, Estella, Donna and Mary. The girls enriched his life and made him feel like a king. The family will receive friends at the J. Jeffrey Fretti Funeral Home, 5045 W. Sylvania Avenue at Corey Road (419-843-1117) on Sunday evening from 5:30-7:30. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 10, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

As a long time Westgate Kiwanian, I came to know and appreciate Lou. He was always ready to work on a project that would help others. A generation apart, he and I were good friends. He will be missed.
