Randall Jay Felker, who loved Jesus deeply, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the very early hours of July 13, 2018 with his wife, Suzanne, at his bedside. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Randy was born on September 15, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN, and is the second oldest of five boys. He is survived by Suzanne, their daughter Jessamyn, her husband Riley, his grandson Cash, his parents Lester and Gloria, his four brothers, Larry, Tim, Brent, Brian and their families, his brother-in-law David Labbo and his wife Linda, and seven nieces and nephews and their families. Randy and the whole family feel deep gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion he was shown by Dr. Benjamin Scheier, his oncologist, and the Oncology team at the Franklin Clinic. The family also expresses thankfulness to the ICU, Intermediate Care and oncology staff at St. Joseph's hospital, and everyone at The Denver Hospice for their superb professionalism and care. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018, in the Upper Room of Colorado Community Church, 2220 S. Chambers Road, Aurora, CO, 80014. The celebration will begin with an Art Walk of some of Randy's artistic gifts from 3:00-4:00, followed by a service from 4:00-5:30. The Upper Room is in the strip mall next to the Goodwill store. The best GPS address is 15445 E Iliff Ave, Aurora, CO 80013. To the Felker family, whom I've never had the privilege to know, please know this:

I had the pleasure of not only meeting Randy, but also knowing Randy at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, in what today seems to have been many, many years ago.

He was working in the position that at the time, I think would've been classified as "Art Director". I was able to do some freelance work with him, and later, I was able to see him in a different light when I (fortunately), became an independent art director and graphic designer.

Additionally, I'd like all of you to know, that Randy, Rick Korge, Tom Veltry and me (André Csihás, who's writing all this), had some of the finest brown-bag lunches in the history of discontended adversting workers, in one of the parks close to our offices of work at the time, and also the chance to commiserate about our professional misfortunes, yet holding fast to our comments, because "we needed the job".

I so clearly remember Randy as my passenger, as we both drove to one of those brown-bag lunches in the park, telling me that he was leaving for Colorado, to work with his brothers.

Today, February 24, 2019, and many years after those glorious days of company with Randy, Rick Korge, my dearest friend leftover from the "good ol' days" of the advertising biz, dropped in at my house, and sadly, told me of the passing of my / our friend Randy.

Frankly, I was taken aback, and while gazing at the clear blue sky above us on this Winter February afternoon, my heart was pierced by the arrow of the pain that can only be felt upon the loss of a friend, and great colleague of mine.

To each and everyone of Randy's family, please accept my heartfelt condolences, to one of the finest family member that all of you had, and to one of the finest friends and colleagues that I ever had.

Today, working in my third profession as an interpreter and translator for the Hispanics, I have a schedule that will challenge the mighty, however I'll make every conceivable effort to attend the dispersal of Randy's ashes on the river.

Again, to the Felder family: It has been my honor and pleasure to have known and worked with my friend Randy Felker, and to all of you, please know that there was no finer member and friend than him.

With my heartfelt condolences to each and everyone of you,

Respectfully,

André Csihás

I'm thankful to be one of Randy's nephews. I am so sad that we lost him. Randy was a great man and an awesome Uncle. I always looked up to him and appreciated all the great things about him... devoted husband and father, strong Christian faith, his love of family and friends, an amazing artist, and a honorable gentleman. I miss him so much.

Randy's passing saddens my heart. He was one of my core friends in high school and our early college years. We shared many a good time enjoying the outdoors, fishing, or just hanging out talking about life. Randy was a great friend but I'll also remember him as a brother. Much love and sincere condolences to the entire Felker family.

Mr. Randy's 2017 Horizons at CA Family

August 2, 2018

Mr. Randy's legacy lives forever in the dozens of Horizons at CA children whom he taught with grace, courage, and love. Every one of his students knew he cared about them deeply, sharing the treasure of his talent and time every second our Horizons doors were open. Each time one of our students picks up a paintbrush or makes a papel picado or sees a sky and decides to color it bright blue with sunshine, we know Mr. Randy will see them and smile with the same encouragement that characterized his four years with us. We send our love to Suzanne and Jessamyn and all who knew this incredible teacher, for good. Always, Mr. Randy's Horizons Team Members and Students

Condolences to the Felker family. Lester Felker and my dad, Eugene Beekley were both AF chaplains serving together at Kadena Air Base.
Fast Forward to Texas: I enrolled in a software class here in San Antonio around 1997 or so, and when the class roster was read aloud, I heard the name Felker. Having known the Felker family in Okinawa in the late 60s, I sought out this Felker person sitting a few desks away, and discovered it was indeed the same. We chatted briefly, and got on with the class, but I failed to keep track of him after we finished. I don't know what he was doing in San Antonio at the time, and completely lost touch until seeing the obit in the San Antonio paper last Sunday, July 29, 2018. Curious to fill in the blanks between Kadena and San Antonio, and San Antonio and Colorado!

Randy was an exceptional artist with a huge heart. He did over 30 CD covers for my wife and I's record label. His covers went all over the world. But the main thing is that he always put his "all" into every project and never-ever missed a deadline. But most important, he was a wonderful friend who always wanted to help in whatever capacity he could. He will be so missed.

I had the privilege of getting to visit Randy a few times while living in Colorado. As a kid I always new of my cousin thru his amazing drawings. Getting to know him more as an adult, I found him to be a gentle, kind and very interesting person. We will miss him greatly.

I am so sorry to hear about Randy. I always admired his artistic talent and enjoyed the time we shared several times at Mo Ranch north of Kerrville Tx, when we were in High School. I have fond memories of our short time when our families shared that duplex in Biloxi Ms on Keesler AFB.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family during this difficult time.

I am blessed to have known Randy. He would stop by my class to see what the kids were working on. We would talk about Graphic Design and his experiences. He had a passion for art.

I will miss seeing him around the Pickens campus.

Randy was such A kind, positive person who took every opportunity to reach out and help anyone in need. Teachers and students loved his subtle but very knowledgeable ways of helping students reach their potential. I can still see some of our students peeled on the edge of their seats as he talked about World War II while showing them real relics of those times. No doubt in my mind, Randy lives on through his Art students and hundreds of the other classes that he worked in. Thank for being my friend.
My love to his awesome family, Val

My brother, my friend, a beautiful example of how a man should conduct himself ... Randy was all of these. In spite
of his own immense talent, he was always encouraging and excited about the interests and accomplishments of those around him. His deep understanding of Gods grace greatly affected the way he interacted with friends, family and strangers alike.
I miss him.

Randy was a playful uncle and had the biggest heart of anyone I'll ever meet. We'll all miss his sense of humor, kind nature, and the wonderful example he set with his love of Christ. Even in sickness, he gave God glory and that's a powerful testimony. Love to all family and friends.

It will always be my honor to have known Randy - His Love for gardening, his quick wit, his appreciation for gifts given and received - but most of all for the way he expressed Gods love. His was a life well-lived - one that will continue to bear fruit.
