Randy Hagel Obituary
June 13, 1959 - January 27, 2018
Calgary, Alberta
Randy Hagel, beloved husband of Shannon Hagel (nee Jensen) of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 58 years. Randy was an adventurous entrepreneur that owned businesses that varied in size, location, and purpose. As a young child, he learned the value of hard work by working for his dad at a number of family owned businesses in Beiseker including Manny's Dry Goods, the Beiseker gas station, and Calgary Farmline Equipment. Starting out on his own, he launched and successfully ran several businesses including a Turbo gas station, Kart Gardens, Kart World based in Calgary, and the Big Island Retreat in Kona, Hawaii.
In his spare time, Randy loved to spend time playing recreational hockey where his team won the North American league title in 2007. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandson, walks around Calgary, racquetball, and relaxing on the beach in Hawaii. Randy was famous for getting to know anyone and everyone that would say hi to him. He was a generous man who was entertaining and very friendly. He was a devout Christian who held firm to his belief in Jesus.
Besides his loving wife, Shannon, Randy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Becky and Jimmy Parker; daughter Katie Hagel; and son Chris Hagel; grandchild Ezra Kai Parker; his sister Sherri Hagel; and sister and brother-in-law Laura and Willie Dueck; his brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Nathalie Hagel; his nephews and nieces, Jonathan and Victoria Hagel, David and Hongyi Dueck, Matthew Hagel, Michelle Dueck, and Natasha Hagel; and father-in-law Elmer and his wife Bernie Jensen. He is predeceased by his parents Emmanuel (Manny) and Ruby Hagel; mother-in-law Claire Jensen; and sister-in-law Pam Jensen.
Funeral Services will be held at Calgary Life Church (11400 27 Street S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 1:00p.m. Reception to follow at the Church. Parking at rear of church. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

My codolences to Randy's family. I have many great memories of Randy and his family, as well as his inlaws. Randy was a great and friendly guy, and lots of fun. The one memory that sticks out in my mind, is when Randy had half the Youth Group over from the Calgary Christian Centre, for New's Year Eve. I was Randy's place until 7 in the morning. I had so much fun. I also remember when he was at my 20th Surprise Birthday Party which my folks had for me. Randy will be dearly missed by all who knew him, But he's in Heaven now, looking down on us. He probably hopes there are Palm Trees up there, like in Maui. God Bless. Michael Stephens.
