Rattan BAHIA

BAHIA _ Rattan Singh Bahia passed away peacefully at home on August 7th, 2004. Born August 1st, 1920 in Kala Bahia, Punjab, India, he immigrated to Canada in 1956 and worked in the lumber industry in the lower mainland until his retirement. Rattan is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Swarn Kaur and two sons, Paul (Balvir) and Dave (Ronnie) and daughter, Mindy (Adam). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Sonya, Robert, Aren, Devon, Kelli and Lauren. He will also be missed by numerous relatives in Canada and India and by his nieces and nephews, especially Satnam Bahia and Swarn Bal and their families. His sense of humour and quick smile will be missed by all, especially his cherished grandchildren with whom he was always ready to play a very competitive and "honest" game of cards. Funeral services at Riverside Funeral Home, 7410 Hopcott Road, Delta (604-940-1313) on Saturday, August 21st, 2004 at 1:45 p.m. Bhog will follow at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Akali Singh Sikh Temple, Skeena Street, Vancouver (604-254-2117).
