Martinson, Raylene Mary 57 March 26, 1954 Dec. 24, 2011 Raylene Mary Martinson, of Happy Valley, passed away suddenly at home on Dec. 24. She was born March 26, 1954 in Escondido, Calif. The daughter of Ray and Shirley Finlay, she grew up in San Diego. She married Reg Martinson on July 12, 1975 in San Diego. The family in resided in Spokane, Wash. until 1990 when they relocated to Portland. Raylene was an avid reader and enjoyed history. She was involved in antiques and collectibles and created a number of heirloom treasures that she cross-stitched for family and others. She was also a talented seamstress including sewing, knitting, crocheting and weaving. Her passion focused on loving and caring for her family where she created wonderful holiday celebrations with her love of the Lord woven into it all. She survived by Reg, her loving husband at home; sister, Jackie Easterling of Diamond Lake, Wash.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick and Beverly Martinson of Kennowick, Wash.; children, Michael of Taos, New Mexico, Melissa Martinson of Alamosa, Co., Chantel Martinson of Spokane and Carla Osswald of Vancouver; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nikki Parker. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Jan. 14, 2012 at New Hope Community Church 11731 SE Stevens Rd. in Happy Valley. Private urn placement in May 2012 in Hamilton, Mont.

I thought that waiting to sign this would make it easier...but really I don't think there is ever going to be an easy time to say goodbye. I love you mama and miss you every second of every day! Your legacy lives on and I just hope I can make you proud!
