Raymond Burns Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 11, 2023.
March 10, 1956 - February 2, 2023

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandpa, Raymond Alan Burns. Ray passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and all his children. Ray was the love and light of Susan's life, and she his. Proud, loving father to Kevin (Amber), Stephen (Darian) and Meghan (Nick), the most patient & kind stepdad to Lisa and Chris, and big brother to Ken, Joanne (Cameron), and Caryl (Dale). Ray adored his grandchildren Rachel, Jackson and Mylee and he loved spending time with them, being the best "Silly" Grandpa. Ray also leaves behind many wonderful nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. If you knew Ray, you knew he loved his family, the Habs, the Cardinals, and of course... Christmas. No matter where Ray was, he always found someone he knew; he touched so many lives. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment has been held today. In lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made to McMaster Children's Hospital or Sick Kids. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, April 15th, and will be held at the Niagara Falls Lions Club. Raymond loved being part of the Lions and was honoured to serve as their President. Further details to be provided. A slideshow celebrating Raymond's life will be played during the event. I worked with Ray at Zellers in Welland. He was always very easy to talk to and get along with. He was a very nice man and a great manager. I know he will be missed by many including myself. My condolences go out to his family. May you rest in peace Ray. Another good one gone too soon.

Bev and I will miss Ray very much, we couldn´t have asked for a better brother in law. It was so nice to enjoy a weeks vacation this Summer, with both Sue and Ray up at the Glen Cannon cottage.
It was the first time we had ever vacationed together and Ray really seemed to enjoy getting away and relaxing. He and Sue made a wonderful couple together and he touched the lives of the many people he knew.
Let´s all keep Ray´s memory alive in our hearts and minds!

We all share in this time of grief, but also share in the love and memories we have of Ray. May there be comfort in knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten. It was an honour to have known him and to have had him as a brother-in-law. Thank you for making my sister so happy. You will be missed.

I worked with Ray at Zellers. He was always a true gentleman, witty and smart....but always kind. My heart goes out to Susan and his children and grandchildren. Yes, "family is everything"... and his love for them was ever so evident. Sending sincere condolences... another "good guy" gone too soon

Ray was our manager at Rexall, and he was such a pleasure to work with. A true gentleman. He was kind and caring, respectful and fair. He spoke so fondly of his family and the Lions club. He will be missed by so many.

I am still so shocked and saddened by Ray's passing. I have been thinking back to the many memories we have shared through the years. Various company picnics and Christmas parties. House parties and New Years parties. Ray was always such a willing dance partner. I will never hear Paradise by the Dashboard Light and not think of you Ray. I love you man.
