AGE: 71 • Keansburg

Raymond D. Catena, 71, of Keansburg, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 15th, at Jersey Shore, Neptune. He was born in Newark, raised in Hillside, prior to moving to Keansburg in 1970. Ray was the owner operator of Catena Electric Co. for 20 years, prior to becoming an Electrical Inspector for the State of New Jersey DCA; he was a life member of New Point Comfort Fire Co. #1, Keansburg EMS and a member of the American Legion Post # 515, Port Monmouth; Ray enjoyed playing the guitar; loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed his trips to Cancun, Mexico and Vacationing with his family. His greatest pleasure was working and tinkering with electrical gadgets and helping people out. Ray and Enid together worked very hard with planning their Annual Family and Friend gathering in the Catskill Mountains, New York. Ray was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 45 years Enid in 2014; Surviving are his two sons and daughters in-law Patrick and Liz Catena of Wayside and Steve and Jennifer Catena of Keansburg; his sister Rosemarie Catena of Avenel; his brother in-law and sister in-law Mel and Sharon Rubin of Lakewood and his four grandchildren Jocelyn, Brianna, Aiden and Jake. Family will be accepting friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Friday there will be a 10:15AM Mass at St. Ann's Church, Keansburg. Burial to follow at Beth David Cemetery, Kenilworth, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Keansburg EMS in Ray's memory, at Keansburg EMS PO Box 342 Keansburg, NJ 07734. Letters of condolences can be sent to www.jacquelinemryanfh.com
