Ray was my first, and longest lasting mentor. In 1966 he was my first clinical supervisor. Over the years, he was my supervisor at the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center, and then my consultant as I began a private practice. He was a big brother to me professionally and someone I have always admired and looked up to. He taught me that compassion should always guide clinical decisions. He was a true professional friend and I am grateful for what he taught me. My condolences to Norma and his children.

Dr. Clausman was always a voice of calm and reason when treatment teams confronted difficult problems with clients at Fort Wayne State Developmental Center. He reliably brought good cheer with him into the office, even on the days that promised to be most challenging, and he treated co-workers and clients alike with respect and with tact. He is remembered fondly. My deep sympathy to all of his family members. Sincerely, Beth Lauer (A co-worker from the FWSDC Department of Social Services)
