Raymond Lazcano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 14, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Raymond Joseph Lazcano II on February 6, 2025. Born on March 19, 1939, in Fort Pierce, Florida, Raymond was the son of Raymond and Nora Lazcano, immigrants from Cuba and Honduras, who instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and the importance of family.

Raymond's love for the ocean was evident in every facet of his life. An avid fisherman who found peace and joy on the water, he cherished every moment spent casting a line, watching the waves, and marveling at the breathtaking sunsets that graced his beloved home in Islamorada. His passion for nature and the sea enriched his days and inspired those around him to appreciate life's simple yet profound beauties.

He is survived by his children: Raymond Lazcano III and his partner Cathy Hinthorne; Timothy Lazcano and his wife Nicole; Elizabeth Maccini and her husband David; Jon Paul Lazcano; and Matthew Lazcano and his wife Danielle. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Madison and Matthew Maccini; Kaitlin and Drew Lazcano; James Lazcano; Brennan, Owen, and Ethan Lazcano and Delilah Talon. Raymond was preceded in death by his brother Richard Lazcano.

Raymond's life was defined by his lifelong love affair with the ocean. His memory will continue to shine as brightly as the sunsets he adored, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer to honor Raymond. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
