Raymond J. Popielarz, 80, beloved husband of the late Shirley (Reindl) Popielarz, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Born January 16, 1936 in New Britain, he was the son of the late Walter and Stella Popielarz. Raymond was a proud US ARMY Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a 40+ year employee of the US Postal Service, and an avid Yankee fan. He is survived by 3 daughters; Denise Motta and her husband Peter of Southington, Cheryl DiNapoli and her husband James of New Britain, and Brenda Ciesielski of New Britain, 6 grandchildren; Melissa and Tiffany Motta, Ashley and Melanie DiNapoli, and Edward and Rachel Ciesielski; and a great-grandchild Gianna Marie Andino. In addition to his parents and wife, Raymond was predeceased by a son Alan. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the New Britain Memorial – Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, with Visitation from 10am-12noon, and Funeral Service at 12 noon, followed by burial in St Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
