Ford, Regina E.

Newark Valley: Regina E. Ford, 86, our beloved mother, passed away at her home on July 21, 2014 following a period of declining health. Her physical presence will be greatly missed by her children: George (Luann) Ford, Rena Woodlief, Amy Clark (Brad Field), Cathy Kunze, Laure Bishop (Wyman Heath) and Mary (Karl) Wood and grandchildren: James (Lori), Richard (Michelle), Chad, Adam (Merie), Billy, Clifford, Kevin, Kassie (Brad), David, Yvonne (Justin), Shilo (Richard), Randall (Renate), Paula, Jessica, Brian, Travis, Kiamesha and Kayla, as well as her many great-grandchildren. Her memory will be with all forever. Born on March 31, 1928 in Westwood, NJ, she was the daughter of Allen and Anna (Caspeele) Jackson. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Clifford George Ford; brother, Charles; sisters, Anna Marie and Natalie; loving granddaughter, Kelli Ford; great-grandson, Zachary Spicer; and son-in-law, James Woodlief Sr. In addition to providing a wonderful, warm and happy home for her family, Regina was a fun-loving and adventurous woman. She was an avid bowler, loved family card games and sing-a-longs to which she lent her beautiful voice, and, at the young age of 74, she enjoyed her first parasailing flight! Her family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. to be followed by a service at 8 p.m. Burial will be in the West Newark Cemetery Saturday morning at 8:30. Those wishing to honor Regina with a memorial donation are asked to kindly consider the Weltonville Fire Dept. c/o Connie Fedorowicz, 150 Lower Fairfield Rd., Newark Valley, NY 13811. Memories and condolences may be shared in her guest book at macphersonfh.com.

Grandma Ford,
I am going to miss you so much but I know you are finally happy again and you're not sick anymore. You are one of the most wonderful people I've ever known, and I feel truly blessed to have had you in my life. You welcomed me into your family and have now left me with so many wonderful memories of the time we shared, from playing cards all night to listening to you and Grandpa do music, and my personal favorite was when you would get all mad when I called you "nana" and you always had something smart to say back to me. You enriched my life and taught me so much, and I will hold dear my memories of my time with you and the things I learned from you until I see you again one day. When I heard that you had been called home I was so sad until I realized that grandpa was waiting for you with a big smile, deck of cards, his guitar, and two cups of nescafe, and that once again you two were together. I know that although all of us who love you won't be able to hug you or have a conversation with you that you will still be around and watching over the family just as you always have. I love you "nana" so very much.
Love,
Andrea
