Funeral services for Regina Mildred Kalis of New Richland, MN, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland. Father Swami and Father Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 until 8 PM at the Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Richland. Mrs. Kalis died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the New Richland Care Center. She was 89 years of age. Regina was born December 15, 1922 in Faribault County MN, the daughter of Paul and Balbina (Chicos) Stenzel. She attended country school in Faribault County. In 1943 she was united in marriage to Alexander Kalis in Wells, MN. Regina was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church and had been a resident of Waseca County since 1947. She had been employed by Stampers Co. in Wells, MN, Birds Eye in Waseca for over 20 years, the New Richland Care Center and farmed west of New Richland. After retirement from the Care Center, she volunteered her time for many years there. Regina loved the outdoors and spent many hours gardening, going on long walks, fishing and spending time with family and grandchildren. Regina is survived by her children; Joan (Harold) Trandem of New Richland, MN, Gary (Kay) Kalis of Cedar Rapids, IA, David (special friend Wendy) Kalis of Waseca, MN, Dean Kalis of New Richland, MN, Randy Kalis of Dallas, TX, Eric (Patti) Kalis of Waseca, MN. Grandchildren include; Ryan Kalis, Tim (Tara) Kalis, Lori Trandem, Michael (Amber) Kalis, Ashley (Beau) Boeaner, Jill Kalis and Kevin Kalis. Great grandchildren include; Alex Kalis, Drew Kalis, Haley Kalis, Zackary Kalis, Nathan Kalis, Izely Boeaner and Ezra Boeaner. One sister survives; Deloris Cory of Easton, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alex and several brothers and sisters.
