Regina B. Warfield, born Regina Gaynell Bullock, 61, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, following a period of declining health.

Regina was born April 29, 1961, to Joel Bullock and Gaynell Funderburk in Concord. Shortly after graduating from A.L. Brown High School in '79, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving for five years, until being discharged in 1986. During her service, she met her would-be husband of 31 years, Jeff Warfield and was married Dec. 22, 1988, and together had one son, Jason.

Regina pursued a career of apartment management, working locally for properties such as The Ridges and those owned by the late David Drye, until a chronic health issue forced her into life as a stay-at-home mother.

Originally a childhood attendee of Calvary Baptist Church in Kannapolis; as an adult, she found great happiness in helping children in the Awana Program at both Calvary and Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church. She also was quick to help anyone in need in any way she was able. Over the past year, she enjoyed attending Ben Avenue Free Will Baptist Church near her home, with her friend, Sylvia.

Regina was preceded in death by her father, Joel; as well as her stepfather, Wayne Funderburk.

She is survived by her mother, Gaynell; brothers, Dale Bullock (Kannapolis), Terry Bullock (Kannapolis) and Brian Comer (Kannapolis); and stepbrother, Phillip (Carolina Beach). She is also survived by ex-husband, Jeff Warfield (Kannapolis); son, Jason Warfield (Wendell), grandsons, Parker, Cooper and Hunter; and granddaughter, Skyler.

Services will be facilitated by Whitley's Funeral Home, and take place Monday, Dec. 19, at Calvary Baptist Church, 703 Buick Ave. in Kannapolis. There will be a viewing at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. There will not be a graveside service.
