René O. Grimany

René Oscar Grimany December 10, 1931 - December 12, 2015

In loving memory of our dear Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

René was born on December 10, 1931 in Guantanamo, Cuba. He was the eldest of two siblings and leaves behind his sister Clara. He married his high school sweetheart, Magali Riquelme (Maggie), in July 1954. The married couple moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where they had their first son, René Alberto. They later moved back to Cuba, where they had their two daughters, Magali Marina and Isabel Maria.

René was a very successful businessman. He started working for Black & Decker in Cuba. He and his family were very fortunate that he got transferred to Puerto Rico before anybody even realized how bad things were going to get in Cuba after the Revolution in 1959. From there René opened territory for Black & Decker managing all of Latin America. His clients used to call him "Mr. Black & Decker".

The Grimany family also lived in Mexico, Miami, and most recently in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
René leaves behind his beloved wife, his son René Alberto, and his daughter Magali. He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Guillermo René Witte, Alex Gonzalez and Omar René Gonzalez. His grandsons called him "Coco", from when Alex was a baby and used to say his grandfather was "loco" (crazy in Spanish).

While we all will miss René, he will always be remembered as the most devoted husband, father and grandfather. His whole life revolved around his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a great provider and an excellent example to all. He was a very kind and generous person. Everybody that knew him fell in love with his jovial and caring personality. René and Maggie always walked holding hands and sneaking in kisses all the way until the end, they were called the "Love Birds.

We look forward to the day when we will see him again.

René's family is very grateful for the outpouring of support and love from all the friends. It is very heartwarming to hear all the wonderful experiences and memories everyone remembers of "Coco".
