Houston, TX - Reuben Aldin Warren, Jr. ("Sonny") of Wichita Falls, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 8, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on July 2, 1943, in Seymour, TX.

He attended Texas Tech University and graduated from Midwestern State University, where he was an active member of Kappa Alpha Order. Sonny graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1969, and went on to become a Health Inspector for Wichita County. He eventually became the Director of the Health Department, working for the county for over 36 years.

Sonny was actively involved in Central Christian Church as a Deacon, Elder, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. As an avid horticulturist, his favorite place was the garden, where he developed many species of Day Lilies which he registered nationally and marketed. He was a dedicated Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), who worked tirelessly to help children in difficult and abusive situations.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nollie Mae Wall and Reuben Aldin Warren, and his brother, Robert Joseph Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Gaye Warren (née Wilson), his daughter Gena Metzger and her husband John, daughter Sarah Rupert and her husband Chris, and four grandchildren of which he was very proud: Sean O'Brien, Meg O'Brien, Brayden Rupert and Karli Rupert.

Sonny was a great guy and long time friend. He will be missed sorely. Blessings on his wife and two daughters. May he rest in peace in his heavenly home. So long ole neighbor. Will see you again!!
