Rev. Ronald Leslie Obituary
Ron and Joyce moved from Wisconsin to Illinois and then to Minnesota, settling on Sand Lake in Marine on St. Croix, MN, where they lived for almost 50 years. Ron retired early from Hazelden and trained as a dog groomer and ran his own pet sitting and dog grooming business, Paws at Home. Ron and Joyce were also active in Helping Paws of MN, training assistive dogs for folks with disabilities. Ron loved dogs and helping others. He was a kind, thoughtful, and deep human being.
Ron loved all animals, sports, the outdoors, and spending time with family, mostly at Sand Lake, at the family cottage, and sporting events. He was an active church member at Elim Lutheran Church, hosting a grief counseling group and serving as a leader in the BeFriender Ministry. He was active in the Scandia Marine Lions Club and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Helping Paws of MN. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughters: Nanc MacLeslie, Katie Solfest (Mark), and Su Leslie (Dan Brown), grandchildren: Duncan and Zimm MacLeslie, Anna, John, and Sarah Solfest, and Anders (Ali) and August Brown, Sister Christine Leslie-Sessions and many more relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 21, at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia, Minnesota. 11:00 a.m. Service with visitation the hour before (10:00 a.m.) Luncheon at church to follow.
Memorials preferred to Elim Lutheran Church, Scandia MN and Helping Paws of MN. Send cards in care of Su Leslie, PO Box 154, Taylors Falls MN 55084.
