Obituary

Rhodora Pineda made her final transition on the afternoon of July 2, 2024, succumbing to cancer. She spent her final weeks of life residing with her daughter and son, spending quality time together. They enjoyed going for walks, dining out, and shopping.

Rhodora is survived by her children Queti Janzen and Dean Janzen, Mother Anita Pineda, Father Ricardo Pineda, Stepmother Connie Pineda, Sister Sherill Malek, Brother-In-Law David Malek, Sister Catherine Ruehle, Brother-In-Law Ben Ruehle, Nephew Mylo Ruehle, and Niece Talah Ruehle.

Rhodora lived the best she knew and left this earth, wishing her children would find safety in this mixed-up world. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. In Rhodora's final thoughts, she shared her pride for both of her children and her sincere thanks to family and friends.

Rhodora exhibited a thirst for knowledge and modeled the wonder of knowing. She eagerly studied nursing, earning a Master's degree in Hospital Administration. A lifelong learner, she earned recent certifications and perpetually acquired new skills and perspectives to make her professional teams more effective. Suffice it to say that her nose was frequently in a book - about any subject.

She was highly active throughout her life, joining gym fanatics, doing crossfit with her friends, and participating in several marathons. She was strong in so many ways; physically and mentally. She was also passionate about experiencing God's creation outdoors, spending much of her life hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking, and camping across the world with family and friends.

Rhodora loved music, concerts, and dining out, and the shoe was never satisfied with "that's the way it's always been done." With her indomitable positive attitude, sheer muck power, and unwavering patience, she handled the hard stuff well. You wanted her on your team - and many teams out there will feel her absence.

A celebration of life will be held at Summer Summer Thai Restaurant on Friday, July 5, 2024 with her family and friends. As Rhodora prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you absolute joy and share it with those around you. If you feel so moved, reach out and tell us about it - or another joyful time shared with Rhodora. The family will have a private cremation ceremony where her ashes will be spread throughout her favorite destinations.
